CLUSTER Consortium

Translational collaborative research to deliver benefits to patients with Childhood Arthritis and its associated disease Uveitis

CLUSTER AIMS

CLUSTER aims to bring together knowledge from internationally recognised leaders in childhood arthritis and JIA-uveitis. The consortium will unite the expertise of clinicians, research scientists and industry partners, along with insight from our UK-wide patient and parent networks, to improve outcomes for childhood arthritis

What is the CLUSTER Consortium

How can it benefit you?

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is the most common childhood inflammatory rheumatological condition affecting 1 in 1,000 under 16 year olds in the UK, along with its eye inflammation, Uveitis in some children and young people.

Currently, young people diagnosed with arthritis in the UK are first given a single drug therapy, but it only works in about 50% of cases. The remaining half must then try other treatments, one after the other, to find a therapy which works for them.

Building on success from previous research, we have developed the multi-disciplinary CLUSTER Consortium. Read more about our ‘Mission and Vision’ here.
